Wonderfully Cornish
Davidstow is a prize-winning cheese with a wonderful Cornish flavour. Its taste, consistent high quality and Cornish provenance make it popular with everyone from Cheddar connoisseurs to busy families.
This has made it one of Britain's best-selling Cheddars and its popularity is growing too. Thanks to its rich, nutty and superbly rounded flavour, it is enjoyed in over 3.8 million households in Britain.
Davidstow's unique taste wins awards. In the last two years alone it has been a winner at regional, national and international cheese shows including; Cheshire, Yorkshire, Bath & West, Nantwich as well as the British Cheese Awards. In fact the creamery was awarded the Rhodia Grand Prix Trophy in 2003 for achieving the most consistent performance in special competitions at cheese shows across the UK.
The Davidstow Creamery has been making cheese for over 50 years. For Davidstow Cheddar, it follows a traditional local recipe and mainly uses milk produced in Devon and Cornwall. The result is a Cheddar that's a natural source of calcium, suitable for vegetarians.
It's available both as a pre-packed product and from the delicatessen counter and is sold in large supermarkets as an own label mature and extra mature cheese.
